Soaring
to
New
Heights!
Kansas FBLA State Officers met in Topeka at the State Capitol on
January 15, 2003. On this day, they joined with members of other
Career and Technical Student Organizations throughout the state to
participate in CTSO Legislature/Citizenship Day. Susan Peterson
from Kansas State University spoke about Developing the "Critical
Sound Bite." She focused on learning the issues present in our
communities, becoming politically involved, and learnig about lobby-
ing. It was a great morning which concluded in a lunch with the State
Board of Education and Kansas Board of Regents. In the afternoon,
the State Board traveled to the capital and met Lieutenant Governor
John Moore. Members then had an opportunity to meet with their
representatives and senators to discuss the benefits of their specific
CTSO.
