Inmates Should Not Die In Prison Says New
NIA Campaign – Support It Today
Did you know US prisons are at crisis
point? Would you be surprised to learn no
new inmate deaths and suicide figures
have been released since 2014? Do you
know that over 65 million families are
affected by incarceration? Surprised?
Please support the NIA.
A new campaign has been
launched in support of the
National Incarceration
Association (NIA).
Now more than ever, the NIA
needs support from you and
other potential members to
help it provide services to
inmates across the US.
Mass incarceration in the
United States is a $100
billion industry in the US and
affects more than 65 million
families.
In case you are wondering, other
issues relate to misfiled
paperwork and false charges, as
well as inmates being unaware of
key information such as their
release date.
Inmates have been unable to
contact their attorneys or
been denied medical help
when they need it most.
A report was filed where
an inmate found a noose
hanging in their cell.
A lack of communication between
the incarceration system and the
families of inmates is also rife
some families are unable to locate
their loved ones if they are injured
and transferred.
The NIA says inmates are
needlessly dying in prison
when they should be serving
their time and coming home.
Roughly sixty million people in
America are affected by
incarceration and the figure is
growing every year, but the
system is in crisis.
