students who are at risk for
falling behind in reading.
Some of the red flags of children who have
reading difficulties include poor spelling and
writing skills, struggles to sound out words,
lack of fluency when reading out loud,
difficulty learning and retaining sight words,
and problems connecting what is read to
prior knowledge.
