GPO is engaging in a two phase process for FDsys development and acquisition. 5 Release Schedule • Initial award for one year with two option years. • The contract culminates in successful completion of release 1 (includes 1A, 1B, and 1C) and potentially elements of release 2 and 3. • Release 1 – 1A – Due July 2006 (Includes core functionality) – 1B – Due January 2007 (Additional core functionality) – 1C – Due July 2007 (Final core functionality) The MI contract will be based on GPO’s release schedule. 6 Anticipated Acquisition Timeline • December 1, 2005 – Request for Proposal (RFP) for Master Integrator (MI) released • January 1, 2006 – Responses to the RFP are due • February 1, 2006 – Recommendation for MI complete, JCP Approval requested • February 22, 2006 – Master Integrator Award 7 Survey Results • Summary of the data and findings are now available on the GPO website – Highest responses • Access to authentic and official Government publications • Migration of digital media to prevent technological obsolescence • Access to digitized publications with full search capability – Other services mentioned • Harvesting, training and cataloging – Next steps are now being planned 8 FDsys Program Management Office • Ric Davis is the Director • Office structured around system architecture – Content Submission – Kirk Knoll – Content Preservation, Cataloging and Version Control – Gil Baldwin – Content Authentication, Access and Delivery – Selene Dalecky • Total staff =11 currently.
