1. Heritage Syrup Festival
A sweet addition to any trip, the Heritage Syrup Festival in Henderson provides a unique
experience that the whole family will enjoy. Festivities include a demonstration of how to
make cane syrup, a car show, and live music. This event takes place on the second
Saturday of November every year. With the addition of more than 200 arts and crafts
vendors, square dancing, and clogging, the Heritage Syrup Festival is a great chance to
experience a folksy event.
2. The Depot Museum
Take a trip through time and visit Henderson’s old train station, now called the Depot
Museum. This building houses artifacts and information about the local railway that
transported passengers until the 1950s. Surrounded by several other restored buildings
relevant to the time, the Depot Museum provides a window to the past that is well worth
your time. The museum, outdoor space, and the addition of a Children’s Discovery
Center make this the ideal spot for the whole family to spend the day.
