Driving Immunization Policy Via Civil Society
Collaboration: 10 Countries Unite For Vaccine
Equity
More than 14 million infants remain unvaccinated
worldwide, with many LMICs still falling short of the 90%
coverage goal set by the Global Vaccine Action Plan.
The Global Health Advocacy
Incubator has established the
Africa-Asia Parliamentary
Network after a two-day forum
in Istanbul focused on
strengthening immunization
policy.
Twenty-one parliamentarians from Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Laos, Liberia,
Madagascar, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Zambia signed the Istanbul Call to Action.
Country delegates outlined key next steps,
including Madagascar's new parliamentary
caucus and Laos' push to build a multi-stakeholder
immunization coalition.
This cross-continental alliance unites lawmakers
working to expand vaccine access and secure long-
term financing for immunization across Africa and
Asia.
GHAI's advocacy work has supported health policy wins impacting over 4 billion people across 32
countries, driving change through civil society collaboration.
