Improve SEO Publishing with edocr Part two May 10, 2018 - Welcome to "Improve SEO via edocr 201"! In 2015 we published " Improve SEO via edocr 101 ", which was written just after the rebranding and relaunch of edocr.com. “Improve SEO via edocr 101” was designed to assist with information on maximizing SEO for your content on edocr. “Improve SEO via edocr 201” is a follow-up blog post that gives you updated information on edocr and new steps you’ll need to take for to SEO purposes. What has changed? Our success is off the charts for one thing, but much of the submitted content is, let's just say, not so useful. For the last three years or so we have monitored the content. The monitoring process involved a manual 'thumbs-down' procedure to rejected content or authors who placed unsavory content on our site. This process assumed content was reputable and good until we saw an issue. With the explosive growth that we have seen we are now getting over 75,000 documents submitted to our site a month, and this number is steadily going upwards! In fairness to our many publishers and authors using edocr for branding, SEO and other marketing uses, we are changing how we approve content on the edocr site. Instead of allowing content to be posted and immediately crawlable by search engines, we will set all documents that are submitted by unknown authors not to be crawled by search engines. This will mean a better SEO ranking for content on our site for our approved authors. Further, our search engine will also rank accordingly, so if content is not from an approved user, the document will come up at the bottom, or possibly miss the cut, of a search. Please note , you will need to take action to get your content approved in order to receive a 'thumbs-up' from us. SEO is the whole point of posting on edocr! So all you need to do is contact us and have your account approved as a 'thumbs-up' account. Here are the quick steps to take: 1. Your profile should be set up so we know who you are. Here is our blog post about setting up your profile. This is a one-time set-up, and takes less than five minutes. Anyway, why bother sharing content if you don't maximize means of contact? 2. Share at least one document that represents the type of content you will be sharing. 3. Click the 'Help Center' link on the top of the edocr web page and submit a ticket with a link to your Profile Page, or your document share page (or just email it to email@example.com ). Please say "SEO" as the subject. Need help or suggestions, just ask! On the next page are a few reminders for those of you that skipped our previous blog posts.... Stand out in a crowd. Your edocr profile is like an alternative web page, where you can post your picture or logo, a description about you or your company and contact information. 1. Tell the world who you are, why you matter, what you have to say, and where to find you on your profile main page: 2. Your documents. Setting up your document viewing page correctly is important to maximize your SEO results. Best of all, you can set up multiple template options for posting documents , saving you time. If you have a local business, make sure city or region is mentioned. Even random subject matter expert documents, combined with your template, tie you to the published document. Powerful stuff! Also, the template title becomes part of the URL, so be sure to change your title every time you post a document. 3. Additional tips to create the perfect page: Select a category, or save one with your template, to help interested people find you. And as an added bonus, our viewer automatically creates a word cloud that links your most popular words with other documents.
